OOTD – 11/17/2017

Happy Friday!! I’ve had a day full of classes (statistics, anatomy and physiology, and sociology) and trying to be an adult by setting up eye and dental appointments. I’ve got my planner spread out all over the island with my class, exam, and work schedules labelled in an attempt to get appointments that work with my schedule. Word to the wise: don’t procrastinate on scheduling these. It’ll bite ya in the butt. I got both scheduled (thank God), but it was more of an ordeal than I thought it would be. Ugh the problems of being a #organizationqueen but also […]

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

I’m basically in full blown Christmas mode at this point. I’m hauling out the holly and ready to put up the tree before my spirit falls again. (See what I did there??) But in all seriousness, I love the holiday season. I am shamelessly listening to the Christmas radio station on my commute to school each morning. And when I’m driving to work. And to hang out with friends. Okay, so basically all the time. For me, after Halloween everything is one big long party. We get to go out and celebrate Halloween, then two days later I have my […]

National Philanthropy Day – St. Jude | Love Your Melon – My Experiences + How You Can Get Involved

So I’ll be honest, I had no idea that the 15th was National Philanthropy Day until about 2 minutes ago. I had already written and edited a long style post for Thanksgiving and was planning on uploading that today, but I’m postponing that now until tomorrow. Instead, I wanted to take some time to talk about the amazing philanthropies I’ve been able to be a part of and give you ideas on how you can get involved with them as well. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital My heart is filled with so much love for St. Jude and respect and […]

Dog Beach Adventures

Finally I can upload again!! I was having some serious issues with my website and now, after sadly losing some old posts, we seem to be back up with very minimal damage. I’m super excited to be back on here. Today’s post as I’m just getting back into the swing of things includes a video from my *drum roll please* YOUTUBE. I know, I know. You probably can’t contain your excitement, but I really am excited and anxious to share some brand new and higher quality content with you all. I’ve been super stressed with school lately, so making a corresponding […]

Fall To Do List

Happy October 2nd!! It’s officially one month until my birthday (just figured I’d put that out there), and I’m so glad that the leaves are changing and the weather is starting to cool down. Yesterday, instead of falling victim to the Sunday Scaries, I organized my whole room (and closet), and prepared myself for the week. Just call me the #organizationqueen 👑. But more importantly than all of that boring stuff, yours truly began to decorate for Halloween and autumn! I picked up some small pumpkins from a little family-owned market stand on my way home from class last week, […]

Changing With The Seasons – Life Update

Over a month without posting. The blogging gods are definitely looking down and shaking their heads at me right now. But in all seriousness, I feel super bad about not posting anything for a while. Starting at a new college has been crazy and I’ve been joining clubs, doing clinical observations at my job shadow, working, and studying my butt off. (Dean’s list here I come!!) I’ve also been doing a lot of reflection and finding out who I really am. Just like the seasons and leaves are changing, so am I. So where better to start this life update […]

Greek Life Q&A – What Are Sororities Really Like, What If I’m Not A Legacy, + More

By spending my freshman year at a BIG10 school and going through recruitment, Greek life became a huge part of me. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I met some of my closest friends through Greek life and I’m lucky that even though I’ve transferred schools we are all still close. They’re also incredibly supportive – I’m pretty sure they were some of the very first readers of Abundance of Abby! Anyways, I decided to write this to answer people’s questions regarding Greek life. I wanted to take my own personal experiences and help clear the […]

August Style: Summer Weekends

I’ve been trying to spend the past few weeks outside, soaking up as much of the August sun I can. Whether that’s been at the Coast Guard Festival, on the East side of the state with family, or just in my own backyard, I’ve been savoring each moment this summer. With just a couple weeks left leading up to my first semester of sophomore year, I’ve been one busy bee! (Which is one of the main reasons I haven’t been able to post as often – I’m working on it, I pinky promise!) Thank goodness I’ve ordered my agenda, because […]

Lake Day with Lake Effect Co.

This post is dedicated to my fellow lake babies. To the people who have heard their parents lecture them about the rip current and still went out to swim anyways. (Sorry Mom!!) To those who can paddle board, wake board, skim board, surf board, and do basically anything that ends in board. To the ones who know where to go that the tourists who come to visit don’t. To those who feel just as comfortable behind the wheel of the boat as they do the wheel of a car. To the ones who were fine with jumping into the water […]

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Favorites Under $60

Nordstrom’s annual anniversary sale opened to the general public this past weekend and boy are there some great deals!! If you aren’t familiar with the sale, in the summer they will release fall items and put them on sale before the season. That’s right – before!! As I scrolled through the pages of sale items I picked out a couple that I really liked and that I think you will too. Best part is, all are under $60 and all of these are shop-able links, so if you like what you see, you don’t need to scour Nordstrom for […]
