HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I have a good feeling about 2018. Last year was full of changes and I feel like I’ve grown so much from everything that was thrown at me. The good, the bad, and the ugly. But now, as I sit here and write this, I can’t help but feel a little giddy for the upcoming year. I’ve got big plans and I cannot wait to see them in action.
I’ve always been a resolution-kinda girl. In middle school and high school, each New Years Eve I would write out my resolutions. I would check off and cross off what I completed and it was so exciting for me. Not to mention it made me feel so accomplished. Don’t get me wrong though, I almost never crossed everything out from my lists. Some of it just wasn’t feasible or I just got lazy like most people do. And I do get where people are coming from when they say “Why don’t people just start doing these things now?” But to that I have to say that I think it’s the promise of a fresh start and new beginnings. Why not start on day 1 of 365? It’s a fresh page in the book and really feels like you get to start over.
I’m not writing out my resolutions in colorful sharpies like I used to however, instead I’ve picked out a couple that I think I can incorporate into my daily life. I want to make this year meaningful and what better way to achieve that goal than by making each day a little more meaningful than the last?
My 2018 Resolutions:
- Travel More: Understandably at the top of my list. Whether it’s a new city, state, or country I’m all for it this year. I want to open myself up to new opportunities and adventures and I’m very determined to make this happen!! Where are some places you’ve been dying to travel to? Leave and comment and who knows maybe that’s on my travel itinerary for the coming year!
- Surrounding Myself With Quality People: Some people just aren’t good to have around. And that’s a lesson I’ve definitely learned in the past year. I’m not gonna be like the people who tweet about seeing who’s gonna be making the cut for 2018, but I’m going to try to really create better relationships with better people. Surrounding yourself with good people (and good food) is always a good idea. Getting away from negative people is an even better one.
- Clear Headspace: Alright so let me first say that a clear mind is key in life. I’m an over-reactor, I get anxious about silly little things that aren’t in my control, I get judgy, and I get self conscious very easily. It’s easy to let these things snowball and then negatively affect your life. From school, to your overall personality, to your motivation. It’s just so not worth it, so I’ll be working on those and just trying to chill out a bit. Also, trying to not roll my eyes as much might kill me.
So those are my three main resolutions for the coming year and I feel like I can make little changes (especially for the last two) to let me achieve my 2018 goals.
I’m also really excited for the blogs future in 2018! From all of the new posts that I have planned in my agenda, to some giveaways in the works, and some wonderful partnerships with companies, I can’t wait to keep sharing my life with you guys through this computer. Thank you to everyone who’s helped me in the past year realize my potential and goals. I’m ready to attack the year and be a #GIRLBOSS!! (Also read #GIRLBOSS if you don’t know what I’m referencing – it’s one of my favorites and will definitely put you in a motivated headspace for 2018.)
